Classic Records founder and current owner of Elite Distribution as well as the record store High Fidelity in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles is looking to sell the store.
Concord's Craft Records division just released a deluxe two LP box set of Sonny Rollins' Way Out West recorded in March of 1957 in stereo and released by Contemporary Records first in mono in 1957 and then by Stereo Records (in association with Contemporary Records) in stereo probably in 1958 or perhaps later.
Sonus faber launched updated versions of the Homage Tradition line’s Amati and Guarneri loudspeakers and added the new Serafino, at an all-day event at the six-story World of McIntosh townhouse in lower Manhattan. Another updated speaker, the center channel Vox was listed in the brochure but not shown during the day-long roll out.

Spinroad Vinyl Factory just opened within Spinneriet (The Cotton Mill), an old textile factory located in the outskirts of Gothenburg, Sweden. It's currently Sweden's only pressing plant. Currently the facility has two presses. Of course they are the new Pheenix Alpha presses made in Solna, Sweden. For now lacquer cutting and plating is done in The Netherlands (probably at Record Industry) but the company hopes to eventually add that to the in-house mix.
The famous high-tech Swedish Toolex Alpha record presses are again being manufactured as Pheenix Alpha in a Stockholm suburb by former employees of the original company using the original blueprints. This according to a recent article in a Swedish newspaper.
According to the story, the last Toolex Alpha left the factory in 1990 bound for Melodiya in the then Soviet Union, though it was believed to have been manufactured a few years earlier.
