I lived in London for about 9 years and attended the Munich show numerous times.  If you haven't been there before, you are in for a real treat.  I think it is one of the best run shows - very efficient (as you would expect from the Germans).  The level of equiptment is fantastic though when I was there, there wasn't alot of American stuff.  The Germans are fanatical about turntables, so you will be in your element.  I am eagerly awaiting your reports..

I've never been to the Munich show but it's supposed to be very good. Everybody comes to the Zürich show so Munich was kind of optional. All the European producers strongly represented with all the Germans of course. As the guy above posted, turntables are huge in Germany, with some of the German designs resembing something out of Fritz Langs "Metropolis". Lots of Chrome, great big platters, etc., etc. Some of them sound fantastic. The Burmeister stuff is worth spending some time listening to. Big chrome boxes, great sound.

The German gear "sound" to my ears tends to be a bit harder and more aggressive than say equivalent US components, but I'm biased.  As a Swiss....

Interested to read what you think.

Hi Michael,

do not forget to also visit the alternative hifideluxe 2013 show at the Marriott Hotel, Berliner Str. 93, 80805 Munich. This one ends on Saturday 11th, not on Sunday. www.hifideluxe.de. Big names, better rooms and the focus is on the end customer, not so much on the middleman.
This year I have to miss the Munich shows, but I can recommend them very highly. LOTS of analog!

Great, see you there. I will be blogging at flatworld.welt.de about the show, only German though...

Make sure to check out the German 'Acoustic Signature' turntables, I have the Challenger MKII and for the money it rocks!

Whatever you do, don't miss the local food speciality Schweinhaxe! It can be had many places, among them the Ratskeller in the city centre. Maybe I see you there? :-)
