RecordWall-It: Inexpensive Record Display Wall Unit That Works

The most deluxe record wall display units are probably those from Art Vinyl. The hinged plexiglass fronted frames hang on the wall and are easily opened so you can change the displayed album in a few seconds. Unfortunately they are expensive at around $50.00 each or 3 for $140 (on Amazon.com).

A much less expensive alternative ($8.00) is this ingenious one from recordWall-It. After affixing it to the wall you can easily slip an LP jacket within the units top and bottom holders, or if you wish (and not many of you will so wish, I don't think) you can display the vinyl record itself using the push adapter that goes through the spindle hole and is secured to the center of the unit. Actually it's a great way to inexpensively display your "E.T." picture disc that you're not going to play anyway.

I was sent a sample, hung up and put my "E.T." picture disc on it. Nice!

Ikea makes a nice LP frame called Gladsax.

Similar to recordsonwalls that I've used for a number on years. Great idea! I use sealable outers that protect my album covers from humidity and make the artwork pop.

You don't really...

When you pay $12 shipping for an $8 item, it kind of takes away some of the niceness...

You need to order more. I have 38 Recordsonwalls frames in my basement.

If you have Michaels (no relation to Fremer) hobby stores in your area they sell LP frames with real glass for 4.99.

Yes but the whole point of the frame feature here is that you can take down and play the record whenever you want to without the hassle of removing it from the frame with glass. One can also change out records very easily as well. Here's a display I setup very quickly around my Beatles Mono box.

It's too bad someone tried to take credit for someone else's product to call their own. RecordsOnWalls is a great product. I have 20 in my wall and is even wife approved. Steve was fantastic to deal with and hope for the best with his future business.

A good friend and I created a product a few years back but they are a little too "high end" to sell with any consistency so we've only produced them for a select group of friends. They were easy to change in and out and were also the same standard as a custom framing establishment. This isn't a shameless plug because we only did it for a while and aren't really producing them anymore but I'd still like to know people's thoughts. I think pricing was around $85 each with multiple order discounts. We were always hoping it would take off but reality is that people don't want to speed money on handmade products and the target audience is a "niche" of a "niche" market. I set the information up on the link below.

The Record Wall-It looks like a nice alternative to the cheap looking stuff I've seen out there - nice sleek design!

We are grateful to Analog Planet and Michael Fremer’s wonderful review and others’ positive feedback for liking this brand new product. Just like mikemoon, RecordWall-it was created out of our devotion to album art while to keep its price affordable and accessible to those who share our passion. To achieve that, hours of design work and craftsmanship have been invested. However, it has been brought to our attention that there have been misleading posts about our product due to business conflicts. It is with our heartfelt disappointment we have to post this comment to protect our family-owned and operated business. Please continue to support Album Art and all kinds of display products!

Hopefully, my post wasn't out of place. I do think your product is great and much needed. We were actually trying to develop a more "economic" model that was just as tasteful and the idea was getting very close to what you guys have created and presented. I will certainly recommend your product to vinyl enthusiasts! Great job!
