When I say footfalls, you say. . .? Yeah, we can’t post that kind of response here — but anyway, how many times have incessant footfalls and other maddening, gear-internal, vibration-incurring incidents interrupted a few too many listening sessions of our favorite LPs? One way to combat those aural irritations is by deploying anti-vibration footers, and noted Polish manufacturer XACT have just introduced their oh-so-perfectly named Immotus series to help with exactly that issue.

XACT owner and designer Marcin Ostapowicz explained his philosophy behind the Immotus CRX and CR footers by saying that they are “mechanical anti-vibration feet designed to improve the sound quality of all audio equipment and speakers. They replace or bypass the original feet, providing a path to dissipate mechanical vibrations generated by internal components. While it may seem counter-intuitive, internal mechanical vibrations are far more detrimental to sound quality than any external vibrations, making typical feet made of soft damping materials ineffective, and may even make the situation worse.”

Let’s take a closer look. First up is the flagship Immotus CRX footer, which is made from a specialized copper alloy known for its vibration-damping properties. The CRX (seen above) features a dual-layer bearing system with enhanced ceramic balls. According to XACT — who are also known for their S1 and S1 EVO music servers and Phantom cables — the CRX “delivers superior stereo imaging, bass definition, and overall precision.”

Next, the more entry-level Immotus CL footer (seen above) is crafted from aerospace-grade aluminium and features a single-layer bearing system with ceramic balls. The CL is said to “enhance sound focus and dynamics, making it a strong option for those seeking high performance at an accessible price point.”

The maximum recommended load “per one Immotus CRX or CL footer,” according to Ostapowicz, is 50kg. All XACT Immotus products, he adds, are designed and manufactured in Poland.

Finally, the SRPs for XACT Immotus series anti-vibration footers are €1,800 for the CRX (set of three), and €1,000 for the CL (set of three).
