On November 12th Universal will release numerous versions of The Who's Tommy, including "Deluxe" as well as "Super Deluxe" editions as well as the original configuration on double 180g vinyl. The press release doesn't divulge the vinyl source, who mastered or who is pressing.

March 9 – Experience Hendrix and Legacy Recordings have released Jimi Hendrix’s new album Both Sides of the Sky today on CD, digital, and as a numbered 180-gram audiophile vinyl 2 LP set. NPR Music recently declared, “No rock figure before or since could breathe fire like Hendrix does, on his beloved well-known albums and on the assortment that is Both Sides of the Sky.” For the occasion, director John Vondracek has created a music video for “Lover Man,” a single from the album.

Newvelle’s Season Five Box is ready, but sorry, we’re behind so here’s coverage of Season Four’s box just in time for the subscription-based label’s Black Friday Record Store Day “open box” specials.

First the specials: eleven individual albums from the label’s first four years, including two from Season Four’s box, will be available exclusively from Wednesday, November 27th to Monday December 2nd, on the Newvelle website. Newvelle Records just announced The New Orleans Collection, a new 4 LP set featuring brand new recordings produced this spring featuring Irma Thomas, Little Freddie King, Jon Cleary and the final recording by the late Ellis Marsalis who soon after making this record, passed away from Covid-19.

Subscription-based Newvelle Records announced it was breaking open the boxes for Record Store Day. In other words, tomorrow, Record Store Day, you can go to the Newvelle website and buy individual records of the "complete remaining discography". That means if they have it in stock you can buy it one record at a time tomorrow only!.

The subscription-based, vinyl-only record label Newvelle Records is an audacious project on many levels—a “closed loop” system wherein jazz enthusiasts pay an annual “membership fee” of $425 (includes shipping) and receive six Newvelle-produced records—all performed by mostly familiar “world class” artists— over the course of the year.

Newvelle is a new vinyl-only jazz label founded by Elan Mehler and Jean-Christophe Morisseau. Mr. Mehler is a New York jazz pianist and composer who has toured worldwide and has released five albums. Mr. Morisseau is a Paris-based business executive with a twenty-plus year background in international global business development.
