At the L.A. and Orange County Audiophile Society's annual GALA last Sunday, AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer was given the society's prestigious Founder's Award. It was also the Society's 25th anniversary so many of the past Founders award winners were on hand including Tim DeParavicini, EveAnna Manley and Richard Vandersteen, among others along with more than 200 of the society's 2600 members.

Saturday August 13th was "Vinyl Day". Barnes & Noble celebrated with events and guest speakers at many of their stores nationwide. Analogplanet editor Michael Fremer was invited to speak at the Paramus, New Jersey store and a looped segment of his DVD "It's a Vinyl World After All" played in all of the stores along with other video material.

Recently, I presented the idea to AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer that I could do my very own online radio show to post on AnalogPlanet. I could transfer most of the songs from vinyl, stitch them together, and speak in between DJ sets. MF said “try it and let’s see how it turns out.”

At next week's Florida Audio Expo in Tampa, Florida (Thursday-Sunday, February 8-10th), AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer will spin records and play 96/24 files from vinyl in the VAC/The Audio Company/Von Schweikert Audio Kilgore Suite located on the second floor of the Embassy Suites by Hilton at Tampa Airport Westshore located five minutes from the airport.

Here's a tour of a well-stocked store filled with affordable two channel audio and home theater. The event featured generous product giveaways on a scale rarely seen, including turntables and big screen televisions. Good show Ovation!
