Analogplanet.com editor Michael Fremer introduced VPI Industries' Harry Weisfeld at the annual Los Angeles & Orange County Audio Society's annual "Gala" Sunday, December 5th, 2015 in Buena Park, CA.

Unfortunately, the only one capturing the event was Mr. Weisfeld's girlfriend Stella Couchells, who managed to get most of it recorded to her cell phone. We're lucky to have this, but when she recorded it she didn't expect it to become the document of record, so she laughs and comments throughout.

You might try to use whatever balance control you can access (even, if necessary, on a Mac system, the one in "sound" preferences) and move it hard left to limit Stella's laughter-or not!

Some of the speech was cut off as she restarted the recording three times after it "timed out" and stopped. The beginning got cut off where Fremer says "The first time I saw Harry Weisfeld's name was in the pages of....". There are a few other audio "jump cuts" but you'll probably still enjoy watching and listening. Be sure to click on the square icon in the lower right hand side of the embedded video.
