Mosaic Returns to Vinyl Box Sets With New Monk Set
Mosaic Records announced a return to vinyl box set production with the upcoming release of The Complete Thelonious Monk at The It Club, a 4 LP 180g box set sourced from a fresh analog mix down of the original 3 track master tape. The live sets, recorded October 31st and November 1, 1964 at Los Angeles's It Club feature the quartet of Monk, veteran Monk quartet members Charlie Rouse and drummer Ben Riley plus newcome bassist Larry Gale.
The group plays a mix of Monk standards and obscurities plus Monk's inimitable take on a variety of standards. Welcome back to vinyl, Mosaic! The set can be ordered now from www.thebestvinylshop.com with availability scheduled for "late March/early April."
