AXPONA 2018 Day 2 and 3 AnalogPlanet Takes You There!

AXPONA 2018 days 2 and 3 were spent mostly touring the upper hotel floors, with day 3 ending at the Convention Center on the other side of the Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel. More new analog gear debuted at this show than had been expected considering that Munich High End is but a few weeks away.

You'll see new cartridges, turntables and phono preamps. While AnalogPlanet mostly left speakers, DACs and other electronics to Stereophile's coverage, a few rooms did receive more full blown coverage.

AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer does not waste time going room-to-room making picayune sonic assessments. These are hotel rooms, after all, that often produce mediocre sound, though you can get a rough idea of how much of the gear performs. If there's good sound, which there sometimes is, it does mean something, but if there's bad sound it means nothing—unless the host says "We're getting great sound"!

After you've watched this and the previous video, you will have pretty much seen everything new in the analog world at AXPONA 2018. A final show wrap-up with pictures will be posted ASAP.
