In that particular case "these sound better" probably isn't true. Maybe it would be for "Please Please Me".
There are few bigger Beatles fans than me, but I will admit I like the way some of the early Beatles songs were "remastered" at Capitol. Some of the songs on "The Beatles Second Album" sound fuller than on the George Martin versions, and I prefer them. I know that's sacreligious, but I won't lie about what I like.
I also like "The Beatles Second Album" and the American "Rubber Soul" as compilations - I know it isn't what the Beatles intended, but the "Second Album" ends up being just a great "Rock 'N Roll" album that sums up the early Beatles as a rock and roll band; and the Capitol version of "Rubber Soul" is sort of a more coherent vision of the folk rock/acoustic Beatles of 1965 than the original Parlophone album is. Yes, I know they took songs from "Help" etc and mixed them in the running order, but lets get real people - the songs were produced only a few months apart, and sound like they totally fit in on the album as released.
