Auris MYSTiK Turntable

When I began looking into the new Auris MYSTiK turntable to see what it was all about, the soundtrack in my head immediately kicked into Neil Peart’s distinct percussive opening to Rush’s “Mystic Rhythms,” which seemed to be quite the logical and appropriate vibe for how to best appreciate the noted Serbian company’s new table. (While nature seems to spin, next up in that related song queue would indeed be Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic,” but I digress.)

The Auris MYSTiK turntable is crafted from Kerrock composite material said to be “renowned for its exceptional vibration resistance and durability.” The belt-driven table’s subplatter features a 10mm shaft and a plate that resides on precision ball bearings. The subplatter is made of cemented carbide metal, which Auris says “boasts an exceptional hardness rating of up to 90 on the Rockwell scale.” The MYSTiK table also sports a bronze main hub central bearing, and its plinth is height adjustable.

The MYSTiK comes preloaded with the company’s own 229mm (9in) Hawk T809 tonearm, as seen here. The T809 sports a 1mm carbon arm tube and has an effective mass of 11g (0.024lb), tracking force of 5-40mN, tilt angle of 24 degrees, and cartridge compliance of 6-11g (0.013-0.024lb).

The table’s DC 9V-12V motor is integrated into the chassis using specialized rubber spacers, and has been designed to minimize the transmission of vibrations from the motor to “ensure a steadfast velocity, unaffected by fluctuations in the electrical supply voltage.”

Other specs and features of the MYSTiK table include speed variance of ±0.012% for both 33⅓ and 45rpm playback, and a 299mm (11.77in) platter. The dimensions of the MYSTiK are 400 x 300 x 110mm (w/h/d; or 15.75 x 11.81 x 4.33in, w/h/d), and its weight is 4.6kg (10.14lb).

Finally, the SRP for the Auris MYSTiK turntable is €999.
